The Personal Touch to Wedding Planning

Don’t book your wedding on-line!

Well, don’t rely entirely on online research but see it as a brilliant support to the traditional legwork that is essential to plan what will be one of the most important days of your life!

There’s a huge amount of planning required for most weddings; stats say that couples take on average 9-18 months to plan their perfect day!  Online research might be seen as a way to shortcut all that effort finding the perfect venue for your ceremony, finding your favourite band, looking at places for receptions – the list goes on!  Question is, can this really replace seeing the venue for real or chatting through your favourite play list with the band of your choice?  No it cannot: the personal touch is essential for ensuring you have everything as perfect as possible for your unique day.

Times have certainly changed and more brides are realising the convenience of researching their wedding ideas online.  Sites such as Pinterest and Lover.ly provide couples with somewhere to go and view pictures of venues, cake designs etc and interact with other brides-to-be too!  More wedding suppliers are also using Facebook and Twitter to communicate with brides.

Here in Gretna Green we have noticed the changing trends too and in response to this have launched a new interactive website and added a Live Wedding Chat feature along with a Wedding Calculator. Our team of 8 Wedding Planners based in Smiths at Gretna Green hotel work tirelessly to ensure that couples get the answers they need through the 7-days a week live chat service.

When couples begin planning, the internet is perfect for researching the kind of wedding they would love to have. Gretna Green, for example has a wonderful romantic history and without access to online information couples may not find out about the romance of this historic wedding village.  The next step in finding out more is to visit an event such as the UK Wedding Show, where you have the chance to chat, face-to-face, with a wedding planner and develop more of your ideas for your perfect day. At the UK  Wedding  Show in Manchester the wedding team, including our own Michelle Hall, Scottish Wedding Planner of the Year 2012, will be waiting to meet you. You will also be invited to enter a competition to win a stay at Smiths hotel.

Visit the Gretna Green Wedding Planners on the 20th and 21st October at  Manchester Central to find out about the latest special offers, including the New Year’s Eve Package or check out the fantastic packages on www.gretnagreen.com.
