If you’re planning a 2010 wedding then you may be looking at potential dates to get married at the moment, but there are a few key dates to avoid before going any further.
There has been a useful Wikipedia article created for predicted and scheduled events for 2010 and there is one major event that stands out from them all.
It happens once every four years, involves 32 countries and is being hosted in South Africa in 2010 – that’s right; the FIFA World Cup.
Now you may be thinking to yourself that neither you nor your partner like football, and it should be fine, but think again. The World Cup is such a big event that it can effect so many different people. Potential guests you are planning to invite could be planning a trip over there, the photographer you had in mind may not want to miss the football, and so on.
The following is a list of key Football World Cup dates that you may want to consider avoiding for your wedding:
11th June – Opening ceremony and first World Cup match
26th, 27th, 28th, 29th June – Knockout stages
2nd, 3rd July – World Cup quarter finals
6th, 7th July – World Cup semi finals
10th July – World Cup runners up final
11th July – World Cup final
Although the above list details some of the key dates, it is not exhaustive as there are many other important matches throughout June and July. If you are going to avoid one day for the whole of 2010, the 11th July should be your number one priority (plus the 12th July due to potential hangovers!).
